Wolf Guy - Wolfen Crest (Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou) is a Seinen manga by Tabata Yoshiaki and Yugo Yuuki, the same guys behind Akumetsu. Like Akumetsu, it's a pretty violent series with a mysterious male protagonist, though with a more supernatural bent.

According to TheOtherWiki, however, Wolf Guy Wolfen Crest is actually one of the many remakes of a short shonen manga from The Seventies, originally written by Kazumasa Hirai and illustrated by Hisashi Sakaguchi, but it takes a few notes from Hirai's later novel entitled Adult Wolf Guy as well. The manga even had an OAV series in the early nineties, with famous seiyuu Toshiyuki Morikawa voicing the male lead, Inugami Akira (here you can watch the OP song). Yuuki and Tabata took the basic concept of the oldie manga, re-set it in modern times, and gave it a really Darker and Edgier spin.

The story goes like this. Akiko Aoshika, a beleaguered and incredibly hot middle school teacher, is stumbling home from an evening at the bar after another day of hell at work. She comes across a young man, Inugami Akira who keeps her from falling flat on her face. After arguing back and forth about her being a teacher or not, he tells her to beat feet, for a storm's a brewin'...

Unsurprisingly, Aoshika follows him anyway, whereupon he walks smack into a large gang. They proceed to beat the tar out of the boy, while the teacher looks on in horror. Not that it matters, as he springs back up five minutes later. The gang leader decides to be more thorough and employs Car Fu to take the boy down. This seems to work so they turn their attention to back Ms. Aoshika, who is in the early stages of Heroic BSOD due flashbacks of her own troubled youth. Eventually she just faints. When she wakes up, all of the gang members have been beaten up and she is completely unhurt.

Flash-forward to the next day, where she is dropped off at the school by the police. By the way, guess who's her new transfer student?...

The series finished with 117 chapters, 12 collected Volumes.

Tropes used in Wolf Guy include:
  • Achilles' Heel: For werewolves, the moon, obviously. Inugami's conscience even admits that the new moon is the ONLY reason he didn't leave immediately to go find Aoshika in 69.
  • Adult Fear: Rape, stalking, sociopaths... Not to mention school troubles like bullying, gangs, and school shootings.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Ryuuko and Haguro. Also, Ryuuko AND Aoshika both want Inugami, though they differ in their reasoning. Aoshika wants him because, magnetism aside, he looks Lonely at the Top and she wants to help him; Ryuuko, on the other hand, simply wants to bang the most evil and powerful man she can find... and if she can't find the most evil, then she'll settle for the most powerful.
    • Subverted recently, for Ryuuko, who although she loves watching horrible acts of violence, she's not into pain being done to HER person. As such, after Haguro gets her tied up and beats the shit outta her to later invoke Damsel in Distress on Inugami, only to change his mind later, it would seem she and Haguro are growing apart.
  • Always Save the Girl: Inugami. Having a conscience hurts.
  • Animal Motifs: A trait carried over from the original manga and novels, where it was common for characters aside the Wolf Inugami to be compared or even morph in other animals; in here Haguro was introduced as a parallel to a lion, Aoshika and her fragility of a deer (it's even on her name); the Kuroda brothers are actually beyond this and clearly Animal Stereotypes.
  • Animal Stereotypes: This troper can think of no other reason for the Kuroda brothers looking the way they do.
  • Artistic Age: Take Haguro, who is in ninth-grade, but looks to be in his mid-to-late twenties. A flashback to when he was 11 just made him less built then his current, man-bodied figure. The rest of the grade isn't much younger-looking, seeming like an off-handed Dawson Casting if not for it being a manga with original characters.
  • Attempted Rape: Several times. Poor Ms. Aoshika.
  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: Inugami.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: Ryuuko was abused and raped by her dad and a pimp. Look where it got her.
  • Berserk Button: Inugami becomes this for many people, specifically the Kurodas.
    • For Inugami himself, referring to gangs as "a pack of wolves."
  • Big Bad Wannabe: The Kurodas yet again. Also Haguro, though in his case, it's more like an evil ox wanting to be a dragon.
  • Black Bra and Panties: Ryuuko's underwear. We get to see the bra cut off alongside her school shirt when Haguro wants to force her to be a bait for Inugami.
  • Blatant Lies: He's just wearing a very good wolf-head mask. Honest!
  • Brain Bleach: Keep some on hand, you WILL need it.
  • Break the Cutie: The author and artist seem intent on destroying everyone Inugami doesn't hate. Specially poor Aoshika
  • Break the Haughty: Haguro. Subverted in that it actually makes him haughtier.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: Aoshika has a moment after glimpsing Inugami in all his splendor.
  • Broken Bird: Nearly every female in the series is one or becomes one.
  • Bullying a Dragon: It's like everyone has a deathwish by trying to bully Inugami.
    • In fact, his aunt insinuated that normal humans have a predisposition to just want to start fights with Inugami, since he isn't a normal human and they therefore want to eliminate him as a threat to their hierarchy.
  • Can't Argue with Elves: Inugami dislikes humans because he thinks they are battle-happy idiots.
    • Though later after the school massacre he realizes that he really isn't any better.
  • Cartwright Curse: Pretty much any woman around Inugami is doomed to suffer or die. Except Ryuuko, who's damaged in a different way.
  • The Chosen One: Haguro seems to think he's this. Digest that for a moment.
  • Christmas Cake: Aoshika. She actually was married, but then she got divorced and is now going for this. She even lampshades it in the first chapter.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Inugami and DAMN, does Haguro make him suffer for it.
  • Comically Missing the Point: No, Haguro, Inugami did not show you his werewolf form because he feels you can understand him and has a burning desire to be with you. He did it to get you to leave him alone forever. didn't work with all he does to anyone he thinks gets too close to Inugami.
  • Crapsack World: This is not a happy place.
  • Creepy Child: MANY.
  • Curb Stomp Battle: Anyone vs. Inugami. On both sides.
  • Deadly Dodging: Inugami's preferred fighting style.
  • Death by Sex/Driven to Suicide : Apparently sleeping with Ryuuko Konuma will drain you of your will to live if you are not Badass enough.
  • Defiled Forever
  • Dissonant Serenity: Haguro and Ryuuko, frequently.
  • Damsel in Distress: Poor Ms. Aoshika.
    • Haguro tries to invoke this trope with Ryuuko, but she points out that Inugami isn't interested in her.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Haguro, Chiba has had it up to HERE with your bullshit.
    • Chiba, Haguro has had it up to HERE with your potential to wipe out mankind.
  • Doesn't Like Guns: Subverted. When Kuro asks him for a gun, Haguro invokes the trope, explaining to him how guns complicate things and must be avoided. Then leaves the armory key easily within reach.
    • Don't use guns, use explosives! Eventually Haguro uses an MGL-140, a semi-automatic grenade launcher. And he fired it at the school. Thus committing the SECOND school shooting of the series. The attack hospitalizes Aoshika, and she later identifies him as the shooter.
  • Dying Like Animals: The student body are presented as boars and their actions are deconstructed by Inugami in Chapter 24 when they try to intimidate Haguro's thugs from jumping Inugami. He actually invoked this trope in chapter 35 by calling them all "sheep", since the student body were holding out for Inugami to take the major blows from Haguro and his gang before acting against Haguro themselves (though by this definition, they'd be lambs).
  • Dysfunction Junction: All the important characters have problems. Those who currently have manageable ones will soon have more piled on top of those.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: The leaps in logic that Haguro makes sometimes must be read to be believed. Unfortunately, he's getting better.
  • Fan Disservice: Whenever Haguro's sadistic nympho girlfriend Ryuuko gets turned on, the next few pages at least are bound to turn a few stomachs. Pass the Brain Bleach!
    • Aoshika-sensei in her underwear? Squee. Aoshika-sensei in her underwear when she's chained to a wall and abouit to be brutally raped by Haguro, and videotaped while at it? Oh Hell, NO!
    • Ryuuko is pretty much this trope incarnate. Seeing her huge boobs after Haguro slashes her shirt and bra? And then he traces cuts down her bare breasts? Eeeeew, no. And this isn't one of her worst/lesser moments, either...
    • A handsome and rugged-looking dude and a naked beauty hugging? Hot, and sometimes sweet. A handsome and rugged-looking dude covered in both injuries and the blood of his enemies while giving a Cooldown Hug to a naked beauty who has been through lots of rape lately and has just broken down? More like both disturbing and heartbreaking.
  • Fantastic Racism: Inugami towards humans.
  • Fingore - When Haguro learns of how Kuro unwittingly damaged his reputation, he removes his finger - by grinding it between his signet ring and the floor. Seeing how Haguro is a son to a Yakuza boss, it was a sort of inverted Yubitsume.
    • Post Aoshika's release from her chains and during Inugami vs. Haguro' battle, Haguro gets to slice two of Inugami's fingers, and he eats them in an insane attempt to confirm Haguro is a superior beast to Inugami.
      • It looks like Haguro got four more of his fingers in chapter 109.
  • Flash Step - Inugami under a full moon.
  • Foil/Evil Counterpart: Inugami and Aoshika vs Haguro and Konuma: a strong, proud young man who hangs around a comparatively more sensible, if broken young woman. While Inugami and Aoshika eventually rise above this, Haguro and Konuma never do.
  • Forced to Watch: Inugami was forced to watch Aoshika's horrific gang rape via video, helpless to save her.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Kuro.
  • Gang-Bangers: They abound.
  • Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: Delivered by Aoshika to the local Butt Monkey when he turns on Inugami after the shootout.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Inugami rescues his teacher from baddies on the regular, gives hope to his oppressed fellow classmates and stops an Ax Crazy from gunning down the student body vice president at point-blank range. He is also a jerk to everyone.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: Inugami's tendency towards taking hits increases with his power, depending on the lunar phases.
    • Under the full moon, he can and has take a shotgun to the face with literally no injury.
    • Under the new moon, while completely human and vulnerable, the thugs that had been at his throat since he arrived are completely disinterested in direct confrontation.
  • Gorn
  • Gratuitous Rape
  • Heroic BSOD: Inugami in 69, while trying to convince himself that the girl being raped in a certain video isn't Aoshika.
  • Hikikomori: Inugami tries to become one but can't stand being cooped up in his house for days on end. Makes sense, wolves are social creatures.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: The first Kuroda.
    • Also, the second Kuroda.
  • Hot for Student/Hot for Teacher: Aoshika seems to lean on Inugami a bit too much. Inugami, on the other hand, seems to come to school for no other reason than it makes her happy.
  • Human Shield: Used by Inugami.
  • Immune to Bullets: Inugami and by extension, Jin. And Chiba.
  • Implied Love Interest: Aoshika is Inugami's and people have noticed.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Ryuuko, whether it's Haguro, her boyfriend or Inugami, the protagonist. Ew.
    • And now Haguro is also in love with Inugami's carnage, to the point he refuses to believe Inugami even has the ability to like normal people.
    • Haguro topped himself after Aoshika got released from her chains, with him fighting Inugami he got to slice two of Inugami's fingers off, then Haguro eats them and gets a boner for managing to injure Inugami, he fell in love with his own carnage.
  • Ineffectual Loner: Inugami, who is also Alone in a Crowd and really just wants to be accepted, but really doesn't know how to handle all the calamity that befalls all those around him. The latest arc has him trying to cut off all contact with humans whatsoever. But Mr. Tadokoro, who he brushed off as useless earlier, has proved helpful.
  • Insane Troll Logic/You Fail Logic Forever: Who misses the sane, emotionless Haguro?
    • Strangely, he doesn't make the connection that people don't tend to SEEK OUT the people who want to do them harm even if they can't actually harm them.
    • Reaches new heights in chapter 65. The correct response is"You're insane, Haguro."
  • Interplay of Sex and Violence: This appears to be the author's "thing".
    • Pretty much everything that comes out of Ryuuko's mouth has to do with this trope. Interestingly, Ryuuko and Haguro's latest coupling seems to imply she's not too keen on violence being done to her.
    • Kuroda takes a break from blowing up stuff (and students) to try to rape the meganekko with his gun. Fortunately, Inugami interrupts him.
    • And Haguro decides to up his freakiness by kissing a battered Chiba, taking that opportunity to tear out his tongue, and then rape him. All because Inugami happened to run into him in the street earlier.
  • Interspecies Romance: Any romantic relationship Inugami would have with pretty much any of the characters except the reporter, though that doesn't look very likely.
    • In fact, Inugami is the product of one, as his mother was a werewolf, whereas his father was a regular human.
  • It Gets Easier: Inugami says as much after killing some dogs and then a gangster.
  • It Got Worse: Starting with Chapter 31. It's not a good sign when your readers lose the ability to read your series at night.
  • Junior High: You wouldn't have guessed it seeing how some of these fifteen year olds look like.
  • Lack of Empathy: Haguro. Ryuuko has little and lusts after whoever seems to have even less than she does. Haguro is convinced Inugami is this as well.
  • Lunacy: Under new moon, Inugami is a Badass Normal. Under full moon, he can shake off a shotgun blast to the face.
    • It seems to affect his mood as well. He gets more emotional as the moon thins.
  • Meaningful Name: "Inugami" means "God of Dogs"
  • Moral Guardians: The rape of Chiba and that extra chapter featuring alternate-universe Inugami's girlfriend with a ballgag-dildo got Wolf Guy canceled temporarily suspended from mangafox and caused all of OneManga's mature series to be suspended pending further review.
    • Update: mangafox is back to normal; OneManga created another website, 1000Manga, exclusively for mature series.
      • Further update: Onemanga and 1000Manga are gone. For other motives, though. Follow it on mangafox instead.
  • Morality Pet: Aoshika, Chiba and Noriko Kimura are the only people that Inugami has taken a shine to. Maybe Todokuro too.
    • Morality Chain: Aoshika has "graduated" into this, as the prospect of her being in danger now drives Inugami crazy. Horrifyingly enough, Haguro not only knows, but actively seeks this result.
  • More Dakka: Kuroda during his rampage. He even goes Guns Akimbo.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Aoshika, indeed. Also, Ryuuko Konuma if she wasn't so bug fuck crazy.
  • Mugging the Monster: Healing aside, no one except for Aoshika seems to pick up on the fact that Inugami could kill pretty much everybody. Unfortunately, they have learned NOTHING.
      • Now they're TRYING to earn the monster's ire. Of course raping his girlfriend and Morality Chain might do it...
  • Murder.Com
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: "Murder" might be pushing it (for now), but Haguro does NOT take it well when Chiba briefly meets up with Inugami.
    • Played straight. Chiba got better.
    • Possibly Ryuuko Konuma's motivation for selling out Aoshika to Haguro beside, you know, avoiding ANOTHER beating. Heaven help Aoshika.
      • Given the eighteen chapter rape, heaven's a little late.
  • Neck Snap
  • New Transfer Student
  • Neutral Female: Ms. Aoshika. Justified by the fact she is no Action Girl and the people who come after Inugami are out of their minds.
  • Never My Fault: Goddamnit, Haguro.
  • Nice Guy: Mr. Tadokoro, Ms. Aoshika's coworker. Aside from Inugami, Jin, and Chiba, he is the only other decent male in the whole comic.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Hey Ryuuko, thanks for stabbing Akira during the New Moon, it just forced him to go over the limit and not be bound by the phases of the moon anymore.
  • Noble Demon: Chiba, pre-transformation.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Usually delivered to Inugami. And then delivered to Chiba.
  • Nosebleed: Used unusually—it happens in response to Aoshika's rape video.
  • Not So Different: Ryuuko says this to Inugami mostly out of anger because he figures her out. Haguro thinks he and Inugami aren't, barring species.
  • Not So Stoic: Haguro, after Inugami shows him his werewolf form.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Absolutely NOBODY buys it, but Inugami.
  • Oh Crap: When it finally dawns on Kuroda and Haguro that Inugami really isn't quite human.
  • One-Winged Angel: CHIBA.
  • Our Werewolves Are Different: Obviously.
  • Out-of-Clothes Experience: Aoshika has one in chapter 50 when she had a back-to-nature experience when she sees a wolf (supposedly Inugami in his more "tame" form).
  • Power Born of Madness: Haguro is much more dangerous than a normal human should be.
  • Rape as Backstory: Aoshika was raped as a highschool student. Ryuuko too, but she doesn't appear to care that she was raped anymore.
  • Rape as Drama: Poor Chiba...
    • chapters 70-81 are basically one huge extended rape scene for Aoshika...
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Inugami, to most people.
  • Rescue Romance: This is one reason why Aoshika has a crush on Inugami.
  • Sanity Slippage: Haguro has been going downhill for quite a while now. He's started to hallucinate about Chiba
  • Say My Name: INUGAAAAAAAAMIIIIIIIIIII!!!! CHIBAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! all said by Haguro.
  • Shaming the Mob: Was Aoshika's Crowning Moment of Awesome in volume five when she tells the surviving students off when they verbally attack Inugami. She even backhands one of them.
  • Shoot the Dog: At one point, Inugami kills a lion, which escaped from a zoo, to save Aoshika.
  • Shower Scene: Inugami has one, Aoshika has a lot more...
  • The Sociopath: Ryuuko Konuma, the Kurodas, Haguro.
  • Spoiled Brat: If Haguro wasn't so used to getting what he wants and having it his way, he MIGHT be able to get over Inugami. Seems to be Rich in Dollars, Poor In Sense as well.
  • Spinoff Babies: Not that young, but this version of Wolf Guy is actually more closer to Adult Wolf Guy than to the original manga, the adult adventures of Inugami does contain much of the Darker and Edgier stuff that it's found in this version, except that here Inugami still is a teen.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: Inugami chides Noriko Kimura for daring to try and stand up to Haguro. Then again, Haguro would think nothing of having her shot and she is not Nigh Invulnerable like Inugami so he might just be concerned.
  • Student Council President: Noriko Kimura is the vice-president.
  • Stuff Blowing Up
  • Superhuman Transfusion
  • Take That: The main scanlator made a mock translation as a take that to OneManga, it created a minor Memetic Mutation that ended up in a Crowning Moment of Funny.
  • Taking the Bullet: Inugami. He can afford to.
  • Tattooed Crook: Haguro has the prerequisite yakuza tattoo, and so do his subordinates.
  • Technical Pacifist: Subverted. To Inugami, fighting the waves of gangs that are sent against him would be acknowledging that they are worth beating up and can actually can hurt him. The only time he seems interested in fighting is in the defense of someone else.
  • Teens Are Monsters
  • Tempting Fate: Inugami is a Doom Magnet but he's so arrogant that sometimes he's just asking for it.
    • A female scanlator was turned off by Ryuuko's noisy visit to Inugami and asked for some guys to work on instead. Excellent decision, honey: the next chapter featured Kuroda achieving an erection for the first time and violently jacking off to photos of the other female characters while stabbing them repeatedly.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Kuroda uses pretty much everything he could carry from Haguro's family's gun cellar against the student body.
    • A meta example: Eighteen chapters of rape? Was it necessary?
  • Touch of the Monster: Invoked on the Volume 2 cover.
  • Troubled but Cute: Inugami.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Egads. There Are No Therapists in this series, are there?
  • Two-Teacher School: Aside from one of her co-workers, the school seems to consist of Aoshika, the principal and the vice principal.
  • Unholy Matrimony: While not married, Haguro and Ryuuko take the trope and crank it...
  • Up to Eleven: This manga seems to be everything the author and artist didn't get away with in Akumetsu and then some.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Kuro, multiple stages. Haguro's is pretty epic too.
  • Wacky Homeroom: If by "wacky" you mean "totally fucked up"...
  • Warrior Poet: Inugami all the way.
  • Weirdness Censor: Ms. Aoshika is really good at rationalizing, even after seeing Inugami's true form.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Many people point out to Inugami that he could do much better in life.
  • Worthy Opponent: Chiba the boxer is the only member of Haguro's gang that Inugami respects. Haguro, on the other hand, desperately wants Inugami to see him as this.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Haguro, obviously, not that that's a surprise.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Haguro is right about Inugami being a monster. He is not right about him having a monstrous personality to boot.
  • Yakuza: Haguro Dou's the son of one. As if they needed another reason why he's scary.
  • Yandere and Cute and Psycho: Ryuuko. Holy shit, no fanservice from this chick will ever make up for the sheer batshit crazy she has on for dangerous men.
    • And now Haguro is yandere for Inugami. Yandere times a thousand. Times a million. If you thought Ryuuko was crazy, she's got nothing on Haguro.
  • Younger Than They Look: Inugami, Haguro, Ryuuko and Chiba all look older than they should.
  • You Monster!
  • You Sexy Beast: This troper prays Ryuuko never quite figures out what Inugami is, lest this come into practice.
    • She's been clued in. Damn you, Haguro!! Now he seems to think it too...
  • Zettai Ryouiki: Ryuuko usually.

The following spoiler tropes have been given their own section[]

  • Achey Scars / Good Scars, Evil Scars: Averted with Inugami due to his quick-healing; probably not with Haguro who survived a shooting at age 11 and during his Villainous Breakdown carved little "inu" kanjis into his arm
    • Inverted with Chiba, who lost his distinctive scar when he was healed with Inugami's blood
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: Chapter 97 has a several pages-long one from Inugami to Aoshika.
    • Eventually chapter 113 gives us the other side, with Haguro's death giving closure to the arc, Aoshika murmurs in her mind that she loves Inugami, her very existence belongs to him; the sad part is that she couldn't say to him, as Inugami apparently vanished after the fight, on his death bet no less, his aunt even says he is dead already.
  • Back from the Dead: Chiba. And it looks like he's shaping up to have Came Back Wrong as well...
  • Badass Abnormal: As of Chapter 65, Haguro thinks he's one. Well, unless madness counts as a superpower. Played straight later in Chapter 105, by eating two of Inugami's fingers Haguro develops some powers right away, like better night vision and sense of smell.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Inugami arrives just in time to keep Kuroda from busting caps in Vice President Kimura.
    • Aoshika surprises Haguro at gun point when he was ready to behead Inugami with his katana.
  • Bishounen Line: Were-Chiba crosses it in ch. 63 when he becomes a monstrous ogre.
  • Bleed'Em and Weep: Aoshika aims a gun at Haguro and threatens to shoot him if he doesn't leave Inugami alone. Actually, she does shot him - it doesn't work.
  • But Not Too Foreign: Inugami.
  • Came Back Wrong: Were-Chiba is mentally unstable and incredibly powerful even during a very thin moon. Akira Jin initially wants to destroy him since he also had to deal with someone who Came Back Wrong, but decides not to since 1) he only wants to kill Haguro, 2) his mind is considerably stronger then Akira's blood recipient, and 3) it's really Inugami's problem. He promptly kills a bunch of people when he wrecks their cars to trap Haguro on a bridge.
  • The Cavalry: The police arrive at Haguro's site in chapter 105, but they can't break in right away due to Haguro's henchmen's unbelievable (especially considering this is Japan) array of heavy weapons.
    • The Cavalry Arrives Late: That said, they came after Inugami had already stormed his way in to find Aoshika, and is injured beyond belief while fighting against Haguro.
  • Complaining About Rescues They Don't Like: As Inugami figured, most of the students don't care that he saved them from their gun-toting maniac of a classmate. Just that they got hurt in the process.
  • Cooldown Hug: Aoshika freaks out when Inugami reaches her, being completely dumbfounded and incoherent thinking she's dead or Inugami is just an illusion; Inugami gives her the heroic hug and Aoshika comes back to her senses.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy:Haguro.
  • Doom Magnet: Inugami and to a comparatively lesser degree, Akira. They both visited the same psychic who pronounced doom on them; after Akira's visit she was hit by a car and after Inugami's visit a plane crashed into her house and killed her.
  • Enemy Mine: Jin and Inugami, as of the last chapters.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Played straight. Chiba, whose hair grew (or he got a wig) after receiving a life-saving candy blood transfusion from Inugami.
  • Eye Scream: Ryuuko gets not only tied up and forcibly stripped by Haguro, but also punched in the eye. She's later seen with an Eyepatch of Power.
  • Generation Xerox: After Haguro's death, Aoshika gets to know more about Inugami's past (to get over his supposed death), his aunt tells Aoshika that Tetsuya, her brother and Inugami's father, was a teacher at Standford and Lois, Inugami's mother, was Tetsuya's student. The werewolf student and human teacher love story had already happened before.
  • Government Conspiracy: Implied. Whoever hunted down and slaughtered Inugami's parents managed to follow them to Alaska with a well-armed troop of soldiers and a tactical helicopter.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Inugami is actually only half werewolf — his father was apparently a human while his mother (who also has pointy ears) was a full-blooded werewolf.
  • Heroic Bystander - Heroic Neutral: Mr. Tadakoro, Inugami's neighbor.
  • Heroic Second Wind: Inugami pulls two consecutive ones after Aoshika couldn't shot Haguro at point blank:
    • Aoshika succumbed into fear when Haguro just didn't care about her presence and kept on hurting Inugami, when Haguro just got fed up off Aoshika's half-assed threats he decided to kill her quickly then go back for Inugami, then Inugami got some willpower to deliver a can of whoop ass on Haguro, but then Haguro being the monster he is got back up and overthrew Inugami yet again.
    • With Inugami being sliced into pieces by Haguro, first by finishing off Inugami's remaining fingers and later his whole left arm, Aoshika starts praying and Inugami begins to think humans aren't that bad, Haguro is the far end on monstruosity and Aoshika is, as he puts it, the sun of purity; this new resolve forces Inugami to transform into a werewolf, a new white-furred form apparently, and finally kills Haguro with it.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Haguro is, finally, killed by his own katana; he left the sword impaled on Inugami's back just when the guy was about to pull another Heroic Second Wind, Inugami transformed into a white-furred werewolf and threw himself at Haguro in full force, thus impaling Haguro and ending his madness once for all.
  • I Have Your Wife: Or in this case, "I Have Our Hot Teacher And Not Only I'll Have Her Gang-Raped Into Insanity, But I'll Release Copies Of This To The Internet And Ruin The Rest Of Her Life If You Don't Come Back To Me".
  • He Who Fights Monsters: When Inugami finally reaches Aoshika he has already killed dozens of Haguro's goons, and by Inugami's own words he didn't care even in the slightest.
  • I See Dead People: In Chapter 92, Haguro starts having hallucinations of Chiba and the Kurodas mocking him for how he can't kill Inugami despite having tons of subordinates and guard dogs at his disposal.
    • In chapter 93, he now sees everyone he killed or whose death came as a result of his actions, like the Principal of the school.
  • I Will Definitely Protect You: Inugami pretty much says this word for word in chapter 81 to Aoshika.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Chiba doesn't remember much these days, what with apparently dying and all. He does remember however, that he owes Inugami his life and that Haguro must suffer until his dying breath.
  • Last of His Kind: Subverted. There Is Another werewolf running around. It's Akira Jin, the reporter who won't leave Aoshika alone.
  • Living on Borrowed Time:Chiba. Jin mentions that's why he really didn't stop Chiba from chasing after Haguro.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Haguro. Manipulates the younger Kuroda into going Columbine on half the student body out of vengeance against Inugami for his brother's death. Using weapons from his family gun cellar. The kicker? His brother died because HAGURO pulled his life-support.
  • Our Monsters Are Different: Chiba. It's possible that the reason he became like that was because he died in the first place. Had he survived the surgery, its possible he would have remained part werewolf and not become an ogre instead.
  • Overdrawn At the Blood Bank: by the time Inugami finds Aoshika, (chapter 97 for those who want to scream finally!), he has lost blood walking, running, getting continuous showers of bullets, especially one by a enraged Haguro with his Humvee loaded with turrets; and losing more while trying to break Aoshika's chains. To hit the point home Inugami does not have his full powers at all during this massacre, only enough to keep him stanting, healing not included!
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Ogre-Chiba and the werewolves since it's their blood that brings 'em back wrong.
  • Please, I Will Do Anything!: While being Forced to Watch Aoshika's rape Inugami is reduced to begging Haguro to let her go, and that he'll doing anything. And of course, Haguro wants to see Inugami transform into a werewolf - which is the ONE thing that Inugami can't do at the moment because it's a new moon. Inugami tries his hardest to transform, but with no use.
  • Power of Love: More or less, Inugami was able to transform into a white wolf during the new moon because of Aoshika.
  • Psycho Serum: Apparently, as if having her gang-raped isn't enough, Haguro has forcibly given Aoshika one of these to break her even further.
  • Quit Your Whining: In chapter 69, Inugami, or more accurately, his conscience admits that Haguro could just be screwing with him for giggles. He then tells himself to nut up and save her anyway, because whatever his thoughts on her are, she shouldn't have to die for him.
  • Rape as Backstory: Aoshika was sexually abused as a high-schooler, and is then brutally raped by Haguro. Ryuuko was raped repeatedly by her father and a pimp of sorts.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Chiba is enjoying being alive again a bit too much...
    • Later Inagami goes through one himself starts killing Haguro's goons left and right.
  • Super Senses: After Haguro ate two of Inugami's fingers, he started to develop some super human abilites right away, such as being able to see better in the dark and able to trail Inugami's blood like if it was highlighted by luminol.
  • Tongue Trauma: Oh GOD, Chiba!
  • Villainous Breakdown: even after breaking down way back when Inugami transformed in front of him, Haguro went loose when Inugami managed to kill many of his henchmen and breaking Aoshika off her chains, while fighting a weakened Inugami and managing to really injure him for the first time ever, Haguro has an extensive flashback of the time he and Inugami first met and couldn't do shit against him, but now that Haguro got to slice two of Inugami's fingers off, Haguro lost his mind in pure insane joy by eating the fingers he just cut off, and then cries because while he enjoys the possibility of Inugami being defeated, Haguro also lost the image his invincible "idol".
  • Villainous Valour: Haguro managed to behead Ogre-Chiba after he snapped out from his Villainous Breakdown.
