The Waldstein Family
Viscount Gerhardt von Waldstein
A viscount and Lord of the island of Growerth, Gerhardt is a centuries-old vampire. In the past, he undertook a series of experiments in order to discover a way to negate vampires' weaknesses, which resulted in him becoming a pool of blood.
As of the end of volume 3, he is no longer Lord of Growerth as he passed on his title to Relic.
- Blob Monster: He is a literal blob of blood.
- Blue Blood: Gerhardt was the adopted son of a human nobleman, although the precise details are unclear.
- The Fettered: He lives by the ideal of chivalry and gentlemanly conduct.
- Large Ham: In spite of the fact that he can't physically speak.
- Mind over Matter: A very weak version. In his own words, other than moving his own body, Gerhardt can't do much more than brew tea and switch DVDs on his own.
- Non-Action Guy: Gerhardt isn't much of a fighter, especially in comparison to his friends from the Organization.
- Our Vampires Are Different
- Purple Prose: Prone to slipping into this.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: To all of Growerth, as well as the Organization.
- Upper-Class Wit
- The Von Trope Family: The darker variety, being from a family of vampires.
Ferret von Waldstein
Relic's twin sister and the adopted daughter of Viscount Waldstein. Ferret is an unusual vampire who has no powers or weaknesses. She constantly uses formal language and insists on acting like an aristocrat, which bothers Relic greatly.
- Big Brother Worship: Because Relic is her only true blood relative, she holds him in great regard.
- Blue Blood: The viscount’s adopted daughter.
- Can't Stand Them, Can't Live Without Them: With Michael.
- Day Walking Vampire
- Guinea Pig Family: Born as a byproduct of a breeding program to create the ultimate vampire.
- Happily Adopted
- Healing Factor
- Immortality Begins at 20
- Keigo: She insists on speaking in an extremely formal tone to emphasize her noble status.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Ferret is the inverse of Relic. She possesses almost no vampire abilities, but also has no weaknesses.
- Super Strength
- Tsundere: Type B.
- Undeathly Pallor: Like most vampires.
Relic von Waldstein
Ferret's twin brother and the adopted son of Viscount Waldstein. Relic is a powerful vampire. Unfortunately, his many abilities are accompanied my just as many crippling weaknesses.
As of the end of volume 3, Relicis the Lord of Growerth, having succeeded his father.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Relic is about the most pleasant vampire you'd ever meet, but when he gets angry...
- Blue Blood: He is Viscount Waldstein’s adopted son.
- Cannot Cross Running Water
- Childhood Friend Romance: With Hilda.
- Glass Cannon: He's capable of using every known vampire ability, but he also possesses most vampire weaknesses.
- Guinea Pig Family: Born as a result of a breeding program to create the ultimate vampire.
- Happily Adopted
- Healing Factor
- Hypnotic Eyes
- Immortality Begins At 20
- Our Vampires Are Different: Relic possesses almost every vampire ability and weakness, including the following:
- Super Smoke
- Super Strength
- Undeathly Pallor: Like most vampires.
- Voluntary Shape Shifting: Into bats, fog, mosquitos, or snakes.
- Weakened by the Light
