  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

  • And the Fandom Rejoiced - Membership exploded when Accessories were added to let you customize your Toon further.
  • Anvilicious - Alright, I get it... Pollution causes plants and nature to die out (hence the Sellbot HQ, which consists of factories with tons of smoke coming out of them, being directly next to Daisy Gardens) and money gets in the way of our hopes and dreams (hence the Cashbot HQ being directly next to Donald's Dreamland).
  • Breather Level: Minnie's Melodyland isn't exactly the most difficult playground in the game... but for that reason, it's not considered to be the funnest playground. In its defense, there's a Toontask that's legitimately a challenge - obtaining a Whole Cream Pie. Granted, there are several ways to increase the EXP you earn (such as invasions), but that doesn't necessarily mean that it can't be a challenge.
  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome:
    • Ask which gag track the toon went without, and chances are extremely high they'll either say Drop or Trap. The two tracks are extremely similar to each other (high-damage, but with either the major downside of having very low accuracy or requiring lure to work) and you don't lose any important functionality going without one or the other, unlike the other three gag tracks that you can train for.
    • The Sound gag track. See Game Breaker below.
  • Ear Worm - Most of the themes are catchy and fun, like the game implies. Heck, even the boss-battles sound great! What's even more impressive is that they were all MIDI files (though most private servers have converted them to OGG for the sake of consistency).
  • Ending Fatigue: The third and final phase of the Donald's Dreamland Toontasks. The first two phases are rather enjoyable, as you get a lot done in a short amount of time while watching your laff take a major spike plus you get the excitement of putting together your Cashbot suit. Phase 3 is... basically nothing but a bunch of "defeat 200 cogs" type tasks - and for nothing more than laff boosts. Until these are done, you can't move on to the Lawbot or Bossbot suit tasks. The amount of grinding you have to do is so notorious that this is where most people outright stop playing the game.
  • Fountain of Memes - Coach Zucchini, courtesy of this YouTube channel.
  • Game Breaker - The most common way of beating high-level Cogs is by having two or three Toons use a Foghorn Sound gag, and having the remaining Toons use an Elephant Trunk. This has the capacity to destroy full teams of level 11 or 12 Cogs (depending on how many Foghorns are used). Toons can take turns using either gag, allowing them to destroy waves of Cogs with no effort and even less thought.
  • Love to Hate: The Cogs may be the villains, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they can't have a fanbase now, can they?
  • Nightmare Fuel - Imagine living in a world where corporate robots have invaded and are attempting to destroy our way of life as we know it. The game may be goofy in itself, but the Cogs? Not so much...
    • Don't forget the various music for Bossbot HQ and the theme of it. Going to Bossbot HQ late at night when it's dark out is enough to give someone the chills (especially if you're the only person there).
      • Skelecogs can fall under this trope too. Not only do they look like disassembled animatronics, but their distorted voices that sound much more robotic than the normal Cog voice alone is probably enough to give the younger players of the game nightmares.
  • Rescued From the Scrappy Heap: While being The Scrappy for being That One Level, as described below, Lil' Old Man can also show up as an SOS Card from the Sellbot VP. He performs perfectly accurate Hypno-Goggles, which can come very handy if a Toon or a team of Toons really need a Lure badly.
  • The Scrappy: Several of the NPCs who give you incredibly lengthy and annoying Toontasks, most notably Lil' Old Man.
    • Cleff in Minnie's Melodyland also gets his fair share of hatred. Why? Because he requests you to deliver a Whole Cream Pie, a gag which you are very likely still extremely far off from getting by the time you reach him (as in, most toons aren't even halfway done training for it!). This essentially forces you to level grind for the pie and it wastes a space on your Toontasks until you finally reach it, probably around the time you're ready to start your last toontask for the neighborhood.
  • That One Level: The Brrrgh Toontasks in general tend to be harder than the playgrounds before them. For example, you have a tendency to have to fight building-only cogs, which can be tricky to find though aren't necessarily rare in Brrrgh Cog Buildings.
    • The most notorious amongst them is Lil' Old Man, whose Toontasks have a tendency to be very time consuming. Having said that, the first time, he's not so bad. But the second time you visit him (for your final gag track)... he gives you 20 4+ story buildings to do near the end of his taskline. Better get to it!
  • Viewer Gender Confusion - The only way to tell the difference between a male toon and a female toon is if they can wear a skirt and if they have eyelashes. Same with Doodles.
