A film directed byQuentin Tarantino - described by him as his eighth film and released in December 2015 in the US and globally at various dates throughout January 2016.

Anticipated before its release to be embedded in current racial issues in America, following on from Django Unchained explicit critique of Slavery, and Tarantino's support of the Black Lives Matter movement and the ban placed upon the film by various police groups. Harvey Weinstein described it as Tarantino's most political film to date [1], the treatment of gender has caused a greater level of divergence among professional and academic commentators than is usual with discussing Tarantino's films
