Tropedia

  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

  • The ENTIRE opening scene.
  • James Bond balancing a scorpion on one arm while trying to drain a glass of alcohol. C'mon, that's awesome.
  • The second fight between Bond and Patrice, especially since it was done in one long shot.
  • Raoul Silva is just one of the most Magnificent Bastards in the history of Magnificent Bastards.
    • Considering how hard M is to please, that she openly referred to him as 'a brilliant agent' makes one wonder what he accomplished before things went wrong.
    • He managed to hack into M's computer and, ultimately, blow up MI6 headquarters to kingdom come.
    • "Think on your sins"
    • He manages, in a very...bizarre scene, to make James Bond uncomfortable.
    • The rats monologue. Honestly, this should rank in the annals of Bond villain entrances, for sure!
    • He plays a sadistic-as-hell game with Bond where he has Severine tied to a statue and a glass of scotch balanced on her head. He challenges Bond to get the glass off her head with a flintlock pistol. Bond tries to hit the glass, and misses...and Silva just shoots Severine, throwing the glass off, since he didn't mention that they couldn't shoot her. He proved himself to be one unscrupulous son of a gun!
    • His epic evil laugh!
    • He manages to carry out a plan elaborate enough that it enables him to hack MI6 twice, enable him to escape and pave his way to M's location, all from the confines of his prison cell!
    • When you really think about it, he succeeded. M died as a result of her battle with him, as he had ultimately intended.
  • Q's entrance. That is all.
  • Gareth Mallory goes from being the company Jerkass to the company badass when he throws himself in front of Silva to take a bullet for her, without even flinching!
    • In the seconds beforehand, when Silva holds M at the point of a gun, M just stares him down without blinking or showing any sign of fear.
  • James Bond fighting Severine's bodyguard in a pit with a Komodo Dragon!
    • "Good luck with that."
  • Roger Deakins deserves a spot on this list, because the cinematography is stunning!
  • James Bond chasing Silva through the Underground, despite the latter having a serious headstart!
  • "Last rat standing."
