* [[Epileptic Trees]]: It has been theorized that the creators of Akame ga Kill based several of their characters on the ones from this Hentai, given the similar character designs. Plus there is the timing of release dates for Akame ga Kill's first chapter (March 2010) compare to the release of Seito Kaichou Hikaru's visual novel (July 2009) and anime (April 2010). It doesn't help that the creators of Akame ga Kill have mentioned that their series was original going to be a [[Hentai]] visual novel.

Akame and Hikaru

Akame (left) and Hikaru (right). Since many of the tropes here relate to their similar appearances.

  • Counterpart Comparison:Many fans have made comparison to the characters here and the ones from Akame ga Kill. Some examples include:
    • Hikaru Izumi and Akame: Both are dark-haired young women with red eyes, wears black clothes with red accessories including a red tie, Dangerously-Short Skirts, and fights with a katana. Heck, Akame is even wearing similar underwear as Hikaru from the visual novel, (see image here).
    • Barmus and Zank (image here): Barmus in his human form is a large man, with short spiky hair, Villainous Cheekbones and constantly sporting a Slasher Smile, much like Zank. Similarly, Zank was Akame's first major opponent in their story, while Barmus is Hikaru's Arch Enemy.
    • Yuki Ayatsuji and Tsukushi (image here): Both have shoulder-length brown hair, Gag Boobs, keep a Hair Decoration on one side of the head, and are the best friends to their respective series's titular character.
  • Cult Classic: The anime didn't do too well when it first came out. Mary Jane dropped the project only after 1 episode. However, the Hentai manage to get a decent fanbase years later. One of contributing factors to the OVA's fanbase is the main character's uncanny resembles to Akame from the fairly popular Akame ga Kill.
  • Epileptic Trees: It has been theorized that the creators of Akame ga Kill based several of their characters on the ones from this Hentai, given the similar character designs. Plus there is the timing of release dates for Akame ga Kill's first chapter (March 2010) compare to the release of Seito Kaichou Hikaru's visual novel (July 2009) and anime (April 2010). It doesn't help that the creators of Akame ga Kill have mentioned that their series was original going to be a Hentai visual novel.
  • Evil is Sexy:  Kotone Shiraishi, Hikaru's Sexy Mentor, who ended up being Reforged into a Minion and became The Dragon to the Big Bad.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Hikaru's character design, due to its strong resemblance to Akame ga Kill's titular character. The H-game was release in 2009, one year before Akame ga Kill's first chapter release (which was release on March 2010), and 1 month before the anime OVA was released in April 2010. Also, according to Word of God, Akame ga Kill was suppose to be a Hentai visual novel before it was changed to a shonen manga series.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • "Akame ga Kill the Hentai": Many people have posted up the anime OVA as a Hentai parody of Akame ga Kill due to Hikaru strong resemblance to Akame.
  • It's Short, So It Sucks: Many fans were disappointed that the anime OVA was only 1 episode. There was clearly plans for more episodes (as the first and only episode included "part 1" in its title) to be released before Mary Jane completely dropped the project.
  • The Woobie: By the end of the OAV... Hikaru. Poor, poor Hikaru.
