  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

  • Crosses the Line Twice: As far as Truth's 24/7 championship hijinks are concerned, he has pulled a ton of hilarious rap sheet from crashing a married man's wedding, spoiling said man's honeymoon, assaulting a mayor who happens to be a wrestler of all people to name a few, all just to regain the title.
  • Crazy Awesome
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: Right Time definitely. Subverted, in that the song didn't get over with the crowd & he went back to "What's Up" in around a month.
    • His new theme.... well, actually What's Up.
      • With Guitar called U Suck.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Post-Heel Turn.
  • Fan Hater: Of John Cena fans, as a heel.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: He wrestled in WWE before? As K-Kwik? Seriously?
  • Fountain of Memes
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The night he poured cigarettes, whiskey, beer, and the trash can they were in over CM Punk's head on Smack Down in 2009. Punk's feud with Chris Jericho reveals that this was truly not so funny.
  • Rescued From the Scrappy Heap: After turning heel and assuming his Cloudcuckoolander gimmick, the IWC's opinion about R-Truth totally 180'd. He instantly went from being The Scrappy to the Ensemble Darkhorse.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: On the night of R-Truth's heel turn, John Morrison made a brief mention of R-Truth having a smoking habit. Of course, with the WWE being concerned about kid-friendliness, that element was quickly dropped right after Truth's heel turn (although he kept the water bottle - see Weapon of Choice). In November, R-Truth was suspended for a Wellness Violation...for smoking synthetic weed at a party. And that was only after Evan Bourne (who was punished for the same offense) ratted him out. Maybe JoMo knew something the rest of us didn't...?
  • Never Live It Down: The infamous "Green Bay/Milwaukee" incident. Though, following his Crazy Awesome Face Heel Turn, he's gotten past that.
  • Straw Man Has a Point: Subverted. R-Truth gets victories over Randy Orton and John Morrison during a Gauntlet match, before wrestling John Cena to a double disqualification, winding up with his first shot at the WWE Championship. However the next week John Morrison, who's supposed to be Truth's friend, comes out and mocks him for being unfit (Due to his drinking water during a match and smoking cigarettes) & only getting his shot because the New Nexus attacked Randy Orton & The Miz caused a double disqualification to try amd get out of defending the title. R-Truth then points that all John's trying to do is get into his head, so that he challenges John to a match & puts his title shot on the line, a challenge which John then accepts. However, R-Truth then tries to back out of the match (He doesn't say that he never actually challenged John to a match, he starts trying to back out of the match), before Morrison points out that Truth had just said that if he won the WWE title, he would be a fighting champion. R-Truth then tries to get the fans to agree with him, only for them to cheer in response to the idea of the match & R-Truth to agree because of that. Morrison then beats Truth quickly, taking his spot in the title match; he snaps & beats up Morrison. The next week he tells the fans that doing things "for them" has gotten him nowhere and actively cost him his chance at the gold. Keep in mind that whilst R-Truth has a point in his reasoning for his Face Heel Turn, Morrison also had a valid point by pointing out that Truth had really only earnt the shot due to the interference in his matches.
    • His endless rantings about how there must be a "conspiracy" afoot in WWE aren't really too different from CM Punk's similar arguments (which, in typical CM Punk fashion, are not entirely kayfabe) about WWE discriminating against wrestlers who don't fit the company mold, and yet Punk gets cheered for this attitude while Truth is just assumed to be crazy, simply because Punk is a face and Truth is not. You'd think that Cena-haters would have been sympathetic to the viewpoint that WWE is hell-bent on shoving Cena down our throats in order to promote him throughout the world and sell ever more merchandise to all the "Little Jimmies", but so far that opinion hasn't caught on.
    • The difference between CM Punk and R-Truth was that CM Punk was pointing out that the entire WWE was screwed up, because of the boys in the back having a very set-in-stone ideal for how things should be, audience be damned (even though the audience is kinda necessary for things like, y'know, salaries). This is shared with a VERY large amount of fans. R-Truth was claiming the conspiracy was specifically against him, that it was keeping him and a few others down. So basically, Punk was La Résistance, while R-Truth was a spoiled brat, at least until the Heel Face Turn.
  • What an Idiot!: On the 02-07-2011 episode of Raw, airing from Milwaukee, he tried to get his customary Cheap Pop and got the city wrong, referring to Green Bay instead. This was probably because it was the day after the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl that weekend. The crowd almost immediately started "Milwaukee" chants, and Michael Cole joined in and started inciting the crowd.
