Write here any speculation, no matter how crazy, about an anime where men rape women with basis on a piece of paper and a belief on a goddess that may or may not exist.
The ritual is just an ancient method of ensuring a woman had descendants
Women become shrine maidens when a relative or a lover write their names. Why these people? Because in a medieval system, they would be who the woman is living with if she is single(a relative) or married (a lover). That way, through the raping, she would have kids.
The goddess the cult tries to please will not accept Suzuko's new methods, and the Rinkan Club will return to their old ways.
Even Motoko obeyed, even if she was shocked, the rules of the ritual( a relative or a lover must write the name of the shrine maiden), and they beat up a man who wasn't part of the cult of raping his own sister. Why the cultists followed the rules so closely if the goddess wasn't real? And Suzuko completely broke that method. The goddess will not be pleased and will presumably curse Rinin, forcing the Rinkan Club to go back to their old ways.
