Red Oaks is a 2014 web television series.
1985, USA, New Jersey. Our protagonist David works as a tennis pro in the country club Red Oaks, and it's the last summer between his sophomore and junior years. In the middle of a tennis game with his father Sam, the latter suffer a heart attack and, thinking he will die, makes a lot of shocking revelations about him and David's mother and asks him to not do the same mistakes he did. His father survives, but what he said makes the young man begin to seriously worry about his future....
Created by Gregory Jacobs and Joe Gangemi. Released on Amazon Video.
- Curb Stomp Battle: David versus a random member of the club called Getty in a tennis game. "Random" is what the audience and David think he is. He is president of the board of the club and didn't like that David didn't massacre him more thoroughly, as David should be in a higher level than him as a pro(the truth is that David let him win a few games out of pity). He asks for a rematch and for David to don't lose any game, or David is fired. Despite being badly prepared for the match because his mentor Nash is basically a jerkass, David wins and keeps his job.
- Deathbed Confession:More like the ground of a tennis' court, and he don't dies, but the principle is basically the same as David's father thinks he is dying. Sam reveals that the boy's mother is lesbian(and as he comments, technically bisexual), and that they didn't divorce before because David was born. Also, he have a fetish for orientals.
- Hospital Hottie: If David was trying to not think about what his father said, both of his parents lusting over the hot female asian nurse quickly made he realize that his father's words were very real and very honest.
- Last Request: Of course it came along the trope above. Sam basically asks David to not commit the same mistakes he and his mother did. Considering the content of the confession, basically saying him to not chain himself to an unhappy relationship. Despite his father's survival, the shock of the revelations begins to make him seriously re-evaluate his relationship with his current girlfriend.
