Basic Trope: A character wants to be completely owned by their lover.
- Straight: Holly tells Daniel that she wants to be owned by him, and completely submits to him.
- Exaggerated: Holly tells Daniel that he is her life, her galaxy, and that she would be nothing without him. Because of this, she wants to completely submit herself to him to be used for literally anything he wants.
- Justified:
- A. Simply Romantic. Holly trusts Daniel enough to submit to him.
- B. Supernatural. Holly isn't human while Daniel is, and she wants to be owned as his <race name>, not as his woman.
- C. BDSM between Consenting Adults. Daniel is dominant and Holly is submissive, so their relationship was a case of Daniel owning Holly anyway. Holly just wanted to make it formally known.
- D. Cultural Relativism. Holly is a black woman and Daniel is a caucasian man in a white-supremacist world or similar.
- Inverted: Daniel submits to Holly.
- Subverted: ???
- Double Subverted: ???
- Parodied: Holly gives Daniel a contract for ownership of her life, including responsibility of feeding, dressing, bathing and taking her to work.
- Deconstructed: Daniel isn't ready for complete ownership and responsibility of Holly, and he asks for her to put those feelings on hold.
- Reconstructed: Daniel doesn't take very long to decide he wants to own Holly.
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted: ???
- Enforced: Holly and Daniel's relationship has gone beyond just "lovers" so the creators have Holly submit to Daniel as a token of how much she trusts him.
- Lampshaded: "Daniel, I want you to own me. Not just as a lover but as a person."
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: Daniel and Holly are equal partners in all walks of life.
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
- Played for Laughs: ???
- Played for Drama: One of Holly's friends notice how she's submitted a lot more to Daniel and wonders if he's brainwashed her or similar. Her friend attacks Daniel, and one or both of them end up seriously hurt with Holly blaming herself for the whole thing. Furthermore, Daniel's been taking her responsibility on for weeks and Holly isn't used to the sudden reappearance of it.
