Tropedia

  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

Noggin was a 24-hour cable television network in the United States, run jointly by Nickelodeon and Sesame Workshop, intended to help children learn. One of Nickelodeon's sister channels, Noggin concentrated on preschool programs and featured the animated characters of Moose A. Moose [a moose voiced by Paul Christie, who also voiced Stick Stickly on Nick in the Afternoon] and Zee [a blue bird]. The network's programming consisted mostly of recent Nick Jr. and Noggin original series.

From April 1, 2002, to December 31, 2007, the channel only aired between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern/5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Central. The N will air through the rest of the channel's airtime. This timeshare practice is still in place on Dish Network.

On December 31, 2007, Noggin's sister channel, Nickelodeon GAS, left the satellite and digital cable channel lineups, and moved to the online-only TurboNick; The N took over Nick GAS's channel position after splitting from Noggin. However, Dish Network released Nick GAS from its lineup on April 24, 2009, and will split the N/Noggin channels on May 27, 2009. Noggin will be on on Channel 169 and The N on will be on Channel 181. Both channels are going 24 hours. As of October 3, 2009 the channel listed as Noggin on FIOS has been changed to Nick Jr..
