Heros of the crossroads

Heroes of the Crossroads (Poo Pitak Si Yaek th:ผู้พิทักษ์สี่แยก) is a Thai Drama ran from 2007 to 2008 for total of two seasons. The series tells the story of Sergeant Chod and Sergeant Tum, two Patrol Police Officers stationed at crossroads in Bangkok who are also best friends, but this holds less true for each of their family members toward their counterparts, especially Chod's eldest son Schwin and Tum's eldest daughter Baitong. Their otherwise peaceful life is interrupted by the arrival of a ghost girl named Tulip, who, along with her parents, are murdered by Somphop the Crime Lord in his scheme to obtain their family estate. In order to rejoin with her parents in the heaven, Tulip must exposes all of Somphop's misdeeds and brings justice back to everyone with the help of her new friends: Mapring, her look-alike, Kan, Schwin's timid younger brother, and Taewwaew, Baitong's sharp-witted younger sister, even though most of them are unable to see her.

Each episode mainly splits into two plots: Plot-A focuses on cases directly related to Somphop, and Plot-B focuses on Chod and Tum's daily life solving various crimes and catching the criminals.

Tropes used in Heroes of the Crossroads include:

  • Beta Couple: Choedsak and Sawini ends up together much earlier than Scwhin and Baitong.
  • But Now I Must Go: In the last episode of the second season, Tulip ascends to the heaven to rejoin with her parents after Somphop and his goons are finally arrested.
  • High Heel Face Turn: Sawini's first step (though she doesn't exactly make the full turn until the end of the second season) is the realization that she truly and seriously loves Choedsak and going against her father's order for the first time.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Taken to the extreme.
    • The characters all went under various disguises, but mostly limited to wig, clothing, and a little makeover, with Chod and Tum's disguises being the worst offender.
    • Lampshaded and utilized by Somphop in the second season, with his "masseur" disguise "Margarita/Somsawart" able to fool the entire cast, allowing him to continue his criminal activities under their nose.
