The Summoners Guild (Protagonist) | Shinjuku Academy (Kyoma Mononobe) | Ikebukuro Berserkers | Aoyama Missionaries | Kabukicho Outlaws | Roppongi Tycoons | Otemachi Genociders | Kamata Crafters | Warmongers (Daikoku)| Invaders | Rule Makers | Hongo Wisemen | Yurakucho Entertainers | Akasaka Agents | Ueno Beast Tamers | Oshiage Game Masters | Asakusa Gurus | Akihabara Creators | Arakawa Wanderers | Exceptions | Yoyogi Academy | Tokyo Santa School | Toyosu Marine Academy | Police Force and Kiou Police School | Kudan Martial Arts Academy | Lumia Kanaloa | Canaan | Fantastic Boyfriend

One of the three main guilds that has control over the game, believing in "evolution through combat". Their main goal is to create a world that war lasts forever in order to fight the Protagonist.

  • Arc Villain: Of Chapter 9-11
  • Dramatic Irony: Despite being considered the most straight forward and virtuous among the three guilds, the Warmongers' Representives (with the exception of Teda and Marduk) are all very dishonest with their true feeling about their Exiles, covering them up behind their supposed desire to fight against their counterparts forever.
  • Enemy Civil War: As of Chapter 11, this is the case with the Warmongers' status during the current loop.
    • Tezcatlipoca and Balor, who are against the Warmongers entering endless treaties and ceasefires with the other two guilds and want to fight against them directly. Which is, not exactly the case, as they no longer wanting to fight against the protagonist whom they've grown to care about.
    • Shiva's goal doesn't go with the others', as he wants to destroy the protagonist, not claiming them as a trophy. Turns out that is because he loves them so much that he doesn't want them to die by anyone but his hands. In the final battle against Mahakala, he works with the protagonist and Kengo to defeat the Exception before being sent back to Deka Lova in peace.
    • Teda and Marduk are generally neutral but also leans slightly toward the protagonist due to their emotional involvement with them, both past and present. When Operation Mahakala reaches its final stage, they chose to side with the protagonist to stop Betro and the Exception Mahakala.
    • Bertro, the Guild Master, Daikoku, Yoritomo, and Mephistopheles decide to perform their own plan of "dropping the moon down on Kabukicho" without informing Marduk, Teda, and Shiva who are assigned in the battles at said area, due to Shiva being a critical part of their plan, while Marduk and Teda's association with the Sun would be detrimental.
    • Lastly, according to Amaterasu, one of the Representative is The Mole for the Rule Makers Guild. Chapter 12 reveals that mole to be Mephistopheles.
  • Not Brainwashed: The recruited members of Tezcatlipoca's faction weren't brainwashed into joining, but joined on their own term, that is, by being shown the carefully selected memories of them killing their loved ones (without given any context of how it happened) in the past loops. This "brainwashing" is undone thanks to Missionary Guildmaster Jacob using his Scared Artifact.
  • Rule of Seven: There are total of seven Representatives within the Warmongers Guild, as with the others True Guilds.
  • War Is Glorious: The modus operandi of the guild.
  • War Is Hell: Some of the members actually hate to go on with the endless war philosophy, knowing that there is nothing to gain from such destructive action, but feel that they have to place to go back to after being shown memory of them killing their loved ones in the past loops.

Hombre Tigre[]

Hombretigre tokyoafterschoolsummoners

A Heart Gladly Given

World: El-Dorado
Origin: Aztec Mythology
Rarity: 3*(Wood), 4*(Wood/Fire)
Artist: Gammachaos
Voiced by: Kenta Miyake

A member of Warmongers under Tezcatlipoca from El Dorado. He works as a professional wrestler outside of being a student, where he specializes in Lucha Libre. Hombre Tigre is known to be quite the Face with his energetic and crowd-pleasing acts. Unfortunately, he's usually beaten by opponents who exploit his weaknesses but find the right moment to achieve victory and increase his popularity. He lost his heart due to being sacrificed to the Representative of El Dorado. In exchange, he gained his Rubber Sacred Artifact to replace his missing heart. It allows him to control rubber around him and even create his wrestling costume. He often uses it to bounce enemy attacks back at them. Due to how it acts as a replacement for his heart, every battle he is in means life or death.

  • Affably Evil: Hombre prefers to act like superstar of the show and please his fans (read:you) rather than be fully serious and ruthless in battle. Doesn't mean that he and his troop are easy to take down though.
  • Artistic License: Biology: Real life jagaur does not have tiger-like stripe pattern like his.
  • Face: How he acts in and outside the ring whenever he fight without losing any heart or energy.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • When not in the state of entertaining his fans or locked into combat, Hombre himself is surprisingly solemn and thoughtful and capable of giving helpful advice to his comrades.
    • He's also pretty well-known about the subject of mythologies, compared his desire to be by Tezcatlipoca's side as similar to Icarus's desire to fly to the sun.
    • Lastly, it's also revealed that he holds quite a disdain toward Quetzalcoatl for leaving Tez behind alone in the world that they once created together and strives to fill in Quet's shoes so that Tez will not be lonely again, even if said wish will kill him.
  • Idiot Hair: A fairly prominent one on the top of his head.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Despite his name literally means "Tiger Man", he is a jaguar transient and not a tiger, which doesn't exist in the location of the real world origin of his myth.
  • Put on a Bus: For the main story, after Tezcatlipoca's defeat at the end of Chapter 11.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: He seems to be based on the Quechua legend of Runa Uturuncu, who are people that can transform into a big cat like a tiger or puma that are also known as Hombre-Tigre. He is also based on Tepeyollotl, Aztec God of Earthquake and Jaguars plus the connection to Tezcatlipoca such as being worn by the Smoking Mirror as a disguise to trick other gods.
  • Rubber Man: His Sacred Artifact allows him to control rubber where he can freely contract and expand it. It allows him a form of restraining an opponent and can be use to counter enemy attacks.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: His Rubber Sacred Artifact's fatal flaw is that as it also functions as his heart, there is always a limited amount of quantity he can use at time; overusing it will kill him.

Jaguar Men of El-Dorado

Tezcatlipoca's faction main foot soldiers whose appearances resemble muscular men with jaguar's ears and tail.

  • Carpet of Virility: The Fire, Wood, Nether, and Infernal variant have them.
  • Killer Rabbit: Oh sure they're flashy, funny, attractive Stripperiffic men that are hard to be taken seriously, but they will likely be the first instance of the player having trouble with mob units.
  • Little Bit Beastly: As stated above, unlike other known Transients from El-Dorado, apart from ears and tail they look just like normal human.
  • Mugged for Disguise: Two of the Luchador Guards are attacked by Suzuka and Tetsuya for their clothing to use as disguises and break in to the Penitentiary Academy, and consider how less they already wear..
  • Pointless Band-Aid: The Infernal and Valiant variant have two of them on each of their faces.
  • Stripperiffic:
    • They wear unbuttoned militaristic shirt, thigh-high boots, necklace, armlets, bracelets, belt with weapon strapped to their thigh, and brief underwear that clearly outlines their junk.
    • For their swimsuit skin, swaps out everything and puts in skimpy bikini swimsuit back on.

Brotherly Dog Warrior

World: Land of Wa
Origin: Japanese literature

Artist: Kinoshita Jiroh
Voiced by: Ryota Takeuchi

A member of Warmongers under Tezcatlipoca from the Land of Wa. He is a member of Yoyogi Academy's sumo club. Yasuyori often represses his emotions while valuing order, hierarchy, and discipline as a member of an organization. Some members of his club admire these traits, while others find it infuriating. He often clashes with violent and rebellious people but does show fealty towards kindness and persuasion. Due to his social inexperience, he often proposes marriage to different people. He often scratches his old scars while struggling with his past and believes his place is on the battlefield. Yasuyori holds a deep respect for Yoyogi Academy's doctor due to his effort toward the Dog Therian's mental health. He wields two Sacred Artifacts where one is an orb that symbolizes brotherhood and heals his wounds. The other is a shortsword that can make the earthquake with every swing, but that is a byproduct of its true power.

  • The Big Guy: His heavy set body with his penchant for sumo wrestling makes him qualified to this tropes. Also being based on Inuta Kobunga of the Hakkenshi from Nansou Satomi Hakkenden.
  • Bash Brothers: The virtue of his orb is Brotherhood and shown to like his fellow Warmongers, Shennong and Tezcatlipoca.
  • Breaking Old Trends: He is the first member of the Hakkenshi whose variant debuts in an event other than Valentine Day.
  • Earthquake Machine: His Shortsword Sacred Artifact can cause earthquakes with its Rule but is only a byproduct to the sword's true power.
  • Fanservice: His peony mark is on his right butt cheek and his 4* art shows his uncovered backside due to wearing a mawashi.
  • Green Thumb: His main element is Wood.

In addition, he carries a curious and merry disposition while excelling in academics and leadership. Shennong is also known for his passion, farming, where he owns an experimental farm for growing different unusual plants. Unfortunately, he has a habit of putting things to chew on, even if they might be poisonous. This often causes his stomach to ache, and he never learns from this habit. He works as the chemical and biological warfare soldier for the Warmongers as well as their medic. Shennong uses two Sacred Artifacts where; the first is a viscera that can produce medicine and antibodies in his body from what he eats. He then uses his large syringe to extract and inject others to heal whomever he can wishes. The second one is his aurora, where he can predict when wars break out and gives first aid hastily. It is also said to have belonged to a former Penglai hero who was exiled from Hourai.

  • A Load of Bull: He is a Bull Therian along with being based on both Shennong and his descendant, the half-man, half-bull war deity, Chi You.
  • Berserk Button: For him, it's people who don't listen to his advice and rush off to their death.
  • Chainmail Bikini: Like fellow Warmongers Hombretigre, his Virtual Summer variant put him in one that covers his limbs but not his body.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: In the world of Hourai, a great flood once destroyed the land, but the two creator gods managed to recreate the world. Though the land continued to prosper after the mother goddess half, Lady Nuwa, long perished, they were affected by endless famines and illnesses, no matter how much Shennong threw himself into improving the algriculture and medicine to the point of using his own body as test subject. Ultimately, his efforts were unrewarded, and wars broke out and destroy everyone, with him eventually transported to Tokyo with a mindset that "fate cannot be changed no matter what".

Tanetomo[]

Tanetomo tokyoafterschoolsummoners

Warrior of Wisdom

World: Land of Wa
Origin: Japanese literature
Rarity: 3*(Valiant), 4*(Valiant)
Artist: Kinoshita Jiroh
Voiced by: Yuko Sanpei

A member of Warmongers under Yoritomo that comes from the Land of Wa like Yasuyori. He works with the guild as a strategist and assassin known for his composed and calm demeanor acting as each. Tanetomo is known for being a complex character due to his many sides. He is known for giving eccentric speeches to being famous for his intense and skilled ritual dances. His specialization is manipulation, where his opponents are bound to limited choices. Tanetomo often gets along with people who treat him as an asset but can feel ambivalence of pity and compassion for people who get enamored by him. His Sacred Artifact is a long sword handed down to many martial artists and said to hold a cursed fate and as the Rule to kill a person that it points to. He uses it to manipulate opponents by pretending to stab himself, thus luring them into a false sense of sympathy.

  • Meta Guy: Somewhat. His battle plan including taking his allies and enemies elemental weakness into account, such as stating that Yasuyori can easily overcome Moritaka due to his elemental advantage, but not to Tadatomo's fire power.
  • Not So Above It All: While he himself may not want to participate with his peer in their grand entrance, this changes if he is the one who takes the center stage.
  • Shout-Out Theme Naming: Tanetomo is based on Inuzaka Keno Tanetomo of one of the Eight Dog Warriors from Nanso Satomi Hakkenden. His virtue is Wisdom, one of the eight fundamental virtues of Confucianism.
  • Stepford Smiler: Beneath the all-smiling and confident strategist of the Warmongers is an individual that can't bring himself to trust anyone out of fear that they've come to take his life and break his heart like what he had done to many in his life of killing, lies, and deceptions, which is why he is so happy when receiving the protagonist's chocolate which features nothing but love sincere feeling.
  • Worthy Opponent: He always views the protagonist and friends with respect and even praises their crazy yet successful plans occasionally.
  • Zettai Ryouiki: His default costume sports one.

Tezcatlipoca[]

Tezcatlipoca tokyoafterschoolsummoners

The Black Sun

World: El-Dorado
Origin: Aztec Mythology
Rarity: 3*(Infernal), 4*(Fire), 5*(World)
Artist: yow
Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu

The ruler of Prison School in Nerima Ward and the first Warmongers' Representative the protagonist faces. Tezcatlipoca hates and loves wars more than anything else who acted as a banisher and exile from El Dorado. He is known for his honor and empathy for people who know the pain of conflicting with themselves. He carries the belief of sacrificing their body for a world's sake. El Dorado was created when he lost his right leg then almost the rest of his body. His current one is a fake one made from his mirrors and can change by his will. He often shapeshifts during battle to make sure his opponents face difficulty. His Sacred Artifact is an obsidian mirror that reflects events from even the past.

  • Affably Evil:
    • Despite being one of the Warmongers' leader, Tez is rather close to his subjects and always grants them enjoyment either during their battles or festivals, earning their loyalty which carries on even after they have received their true memories from Jacob's Pillar power. This is a big contrast to the other main leader Yoritomo who views everyone as pawns for his game of ruling.
    • Notably, he lets Yasuyori resigns from the guild with no string attached after the latter decides to side with the protagonist.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: Story-wise, because his physical form is an illusion/a projection from his Black Mirror, the only way to damage him is to attack the mirror itself, which is reflected in his boss fight at the end of Chapter 10.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: His winged panther form is not his real form, as it long had been lost to time after endless battles in his own world.
  • Birds of a Feather: It's hinted that he shares some sort of sentimental view with Balor, as both are considered among the less trustworthy (as in forming contact with the protagonist, the "trophy" of the game) of the Respresentives.
  • Dramatic Irony:
    • He is one of the Representatives of a guild that pushes for the world of endless war, but the truth is that he has long since become disillusioned with the philosophy following the banishment of his younger brother Quetzalcoatl from his world, and his true wish is much more simple: he just wants a chance to see his younger brother again once more. Notably, the other Representatives took note of this, and branded him as one of the least trustworthy of them after Surtr and Azathoth.
    • Despite he himself has no qualm about fighting the protagonist to death, he does not want his friend Balor to go down the same path as him, encouraging the latter to find a more peaceful solution instead.
  • Expy: A sun-themed god with big ego and voiced by Takehito Koyasu? Are we talking about Tez or Ozymandiaz?
  • Foil:
    • To Pollux of all people. Both were once greatest life partner of their siblings whom they wanted to go on endless battle/war together, not understanding that their other halves' feeling/fear of having to part with them. But while Pollux understood that his mistake and recklessness had brought a great grief to Castor and resulted in their separation, it took Tezcatlipoca much longer to understand Quetzalcoatl's suffering of not wanting himself to continue sacrificing and losing himself until he turn into nothing and leaving him behind along.
  • G-Rated Sex: Judging from the dialogue, this is what happened in the his Special Quest of the Fortune Festival event.
    • So.. Am I to understand that this is the type of battle you desire for the evening, my Summoner?
  • Punny Name: Tezcatlipoca
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: He has the same name of the central deity in Aztec mythology associated with the night sky, war, the cardinal direction of north, and ruler-ship. Tezcatlipoca is also associated with jaguars and black panthers. There is also how his legend involves his brother, Quetzalcoatl joining forces to use the body of Cipcactil(a crocodilian creature) to form the land but she ate his foot. There is also how the Five Suns legend has him be reside in the north as the Black Tezcatlipoca. His name in Nahuatil language can be translated into 'Smoking Mirror'.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: He is the older brother of both one of the protagonist's souls, Quetzalcoatl, and Xolotl
  • Spanner in the Works:
    • Under normal circumstance, the True Three Guilds are not allowed to make the move in the game until a certain amount of time has passed and conditions are fulfilled, in order to avoid getting the protagonist killed too early and maximizing their control over the game and their win rate. Tezcatlipoca, being who he is, purposely allowed the protagonist, R-19, and Jacob to come into the Penitentia Academy in order to fulfill his own goal of battling the protagonist directly and to fulfill his wish of seeing Quetzalcoatl within them again.
    • In the grander scheme of thing, his action ends up snowballing into the Warmongers' massive breakup post Chapter 11, thanks to their already thin relation among each faction.
  • You Have Failed Me: On a receiving end of this from the four of the Warmongers' Representatives toward the end of the chapter, once it becomes clear to them that Tez is actually not sharing their ideal of world of endless war.

Balor[]

Balor tokyoafterschoolsummoners

King of Evil-eyed

World: Tir Na Nog
Origin: Irish Mythology
Rarity: 3*(Valiant), 4*(Valiant), 5*(Nether)
Artist: GomTang
Voiced by: Takaya Kuroda

A death row inmate and one of the seven Representatives belonging to the Warmongers Guild. He acts as the combat instructor for the inmates who work as his soldiers. He was a general and a proud king of giants who gained fame for being in many wars. At one point, he lost his dignity along with his pride and was imprisoned until his execution. However, he uses death on the battlefield rather than a mere execution. His left eye can make smoke that can cause death to both comrades and enemies. It's sealed by someone else's power to make sure such a deadly power is restrained. The shadow around his left eye is actually the dead dragon, Crom Cruach, which can be reborn. His Sacred Artifacts are limestone cuffs that bind his body and seem connected to him being Representative of Tir Na Nog.

  • Adaptational Heroism:
    • Balor's origin is most well known for killing his grandchildren out of fear of dying at one of their hands. This Balor is hinted to actually care for them and accepts that it's natural for the old to perish for the world to remain youthful and full of life.
    • Backstory-wise, because the unnamed older siblings of Lugh are Adapted Out, this version of Balor didn't kill any of his grandchildren.
  • Awesome but Impractical: 4* Balor's Charge Skill probably has the most absurd condition to use, as it requires the All buff from first skill to trigger in order to fire off as it's initial range is None.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: He has the skill and power to back up his status as king of the giants, from his massive strength to his evil evil eye Sacred Artifact.
  • Birds of a Feather: It's hinted that he shares some sort of sentimental view with Tezcatlipoca, as both are considered among the less trustworthy (as in forming contact with the protagonist, the "trophy" of the game) of the Respresentives. As a result of that, by the time that Tezcatlipoca was defeated by the protagonist, Balor himself becomes the next target of both the Representatives and Curran's faction to be removed from the board.
    • Fortune Festival expands on this. Balor and Tezcatlipoca broke their code of eternal war as to their true goals do not actually align with theirs.
  • Badass Grandpa: This grandpa is the king of giants after all.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: Despite how tough he is, he really love his grandson.
  • Distressed Dude: In the chaos of the battle between himself and Shiva, he was attacked by Daikoku who proceeded to use his rule to put Balor under his control, and he was later taken by him once the latter realized that he was fighting a losing battle against Ellie.
  • Death Seeker: His only goal at Tokyo is to die at the hands of someone, to the point that he accepts all the imprisonments and being used as a tool by the other Representatives. The Fortune Festival heavily implies that the person is Lugh, his grandson and one of the souls inside the protagonist.
  • The Dreaded: Feared even among the Warmongers for his strength and battle mindset that doesn't hold back against anyone, and especially his Evil Eye Sacred Artifact that can kill anyone at his gaze. That said, Balor himself considers Shiva and "another person" to hold said title.
  • Dramatic Irony:
    • Despite being a member of Warmongers, Fortune Festival reveals that he does not share their goal of world of eternal war at all, as he knows that all don't last for eternity and the old must die by the young's hands in order for the world to go forward, and only cooperates with them to follow his own belief.
    • His Valentine Fantasy variant's kit also strangely follows similar play style as Onsen Daikoku (the guy he dislikes the most)'s down to having the same weapon range+element along with throwing debuff onto the enemy (Countdown in his case) and inflicts more damage if said enemy has stated debuff.
  • Fanservice: His "Emperor's New Cloth" Valentine Fantasy variant naturally strips him down to underwear while posing suggestively.
  • Evil Eye: His right eye comes in the form of his right eye that is sealed except in battle when its can cause the death by a mere gaze.
  • Incest Is Relative: Probably one of the more explicit ones in the story, with his special quest has him refers to the Protagonist as "a lover who happens to look like his grandchild".
  • Gameplay and Story Integration
    • Balor's Charge Skill being ridiculously hard to use is a reflection of his Evil Eye Sacred Artifact's property: powerful, but cannot distinguish between friend and foe, and require an outside help to turn it off.
    • Leanan Sidhe being practically the only person that can allow Balor to fire of his Charge Skill due to her multiple buffs is a reference to the original mythology, in which she was responsible for the birth of Lugh, whom the game's incarnation of Balor truly loves and cares for.
  • Glass Cannon: Taken to the extreme with his Valentine Fantasy variant, with him being one of the most consistent damage dealers thanks to his offensive buffs, but he also cannot be given any form of defensive buff at all.
  • Grandpa, What Massive Hotness You Have!: Despite his aging years as "grandpa" (per his profile and legend), he is pretty fit and ripped.
  • Hero-Killer: He successfully offed the protagonist in one of the previous loops, but the act broke his heart so much that he pretty much resigned himself to deathrow.
  • Heel Face Turn: After much prodding from Tezcatlipoca from multiple past loops, Balor decides to follow his own heart by allying himself with the protagonist, protecting them from Shiva's attack.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Is the maternal grandfather to one of the protagonist's souls, Lugh.
  • Mismatched Eyes: One blue, one red
  • Power Limiter: His headband and chains function as one.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The hidden eye's color is red, and the source of his destructive power.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: He carries the name of the leader of the Fomorians from Irish Mythology, which are monstrous beings from the sea or earth. Balor is described as a giant with an eye that can cause chaos when opened and was said to be killed by his grandson, Lugh, by slinging a stone through his eye. There is also Crom Cruach, a pagan god of Ireland who appears as a dragon that needs human sacrifice and there is a legend of being slayed by either Saint Patrick or Lugh. Balor is associated with this dragon due to both being killed by Lugh.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In the original myth, Balor was killed by his grandson after having his Evil Eye pierced with a slingshot. This Balor on the other hand, never experienced such event as the one who was banished from their world was instead Lugh.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Though he isn't fond of the fact Tezcatlipoca can read his thought like reading a paper, Balor comments that he will sure to leave flowers on Tez's grave in respect if he happens to kick the bucket before him.
  • Yandere: His love declaration is essentially telling that he will deprive the protagonist of their everything and love them until his soul perishes.

Teda[]

Teda tokyoafterschoolsummoners

Youthful King of the Sun

World: Nirai Kanai
Origin: The Sun God's Bride - Nirai Kanai Mythology
Rarity: 3*(Fire), 4*(Valiant, Wood)
Artist: Saruno Yukimaru
Voiced by: Junko Takeuchi

One of the Representatives of the Warmongers came from the World of Nirai Kanai. It is said to be a place where one attempted to achieve eternity by banishing what is deemed unnecessary: death and departing to the bottommost of its world. He carries memories from a divine emperor and boasts that everyone loves him. Teda is quite fast to forge relationships with whomever he likes. He's a strong warrior that specializes in the bow and arrow. He uses his Bow Sacred Artifact to fire arrows incarnated from sunlight.

  • Affably Evil: Among the Warmongers' Representatives, he and Marduk are the least antagonistic toward the protagonists and are capable of holding a decent conversation with them even in the midst of chaotic battle.
  • Enemy Mine: Toward the end of Chapter 11, he and Marduk temporary put aside their animosity toward the protagonist and help them defeat Bertro and Mahakala in order to stop the moon from falling onto Kabukicho.
  • Hidden Depths: The reason he chooses to not confront and fight against the protagonist despite it being the Warmongers' modus operandi is because he witnessed that Balor had lost all of his will to live after doing such and killing the protagonist as result, thus refrains from the action in order to not end up like him.
  • Hunk: He is totally ripped despite his youthful look. The protagonist has a option to lampshade this when they first meet him.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: According to his profile, his arrow will always reach its target as long as they're in the world of sunlight. In contrast, it cannot reach the land of night or the ocean depth where there is no sunlight.
  • The Nicknamer: Give a very sarcastic yet appropriate nicknames to those he dislikes: "Vile Butler" for Mephistopheles and "Scheming Fiend" for Yoritomo.
  • Playing with Fire: His 3* element, fitting his role as the Sun God.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His eyes burn red like fire whenever his temper and anger rise.
  • The Power of the Sun: Being a sun deity and how his power is based on where sunlight can hit.
  • The Straight and Arrow Path: Use bow and arrow as his weapon of choice.
  • Super Strength: The kid's muscle isn't for show, as he is displays various super feat and stunt in Chapter 11, including running along the wall perpendicularly!
  • Shout-Out: His overall backstory apparently draws parallel with Tedus of Final Fantasy XII, includes falling in love with a priestess of certain religion and, due to a cruel fate, not allowed to be together (although Tedus and his love interest Yuna manages to overcome that).
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: His default costume
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Don't let his childish personality and playfulness fools you, Teda is very sharp in how to handle the situation within the game. Namely, although he doesn't want to fight the protagonist, joining up and supporting them openly is not a wise decision either, given how thing went with Tez and Balor. He even lampshades this to Kengo and tells the latter to not judge him by his appearance.
  • Vague Age: Appearance-wise, while he titled himself "Boy King", one of his alternate outfits is a modified Gakuran which is traditionally not worn before high school. Adding his musculature and its hard to believe that his age is anything below 13.

Marduk[]

Marduk tokyoafterschoolsummoners

Calf of the Sun

World: Babel
Origin: Mesopotamia Mythology
Rarity: *3(Wood), *4(Valiant)
Artist: Dera Kimidori

One of the Representatives of the Warmongers comes from Babel. Marduk was revered as a hero in his homeworld and believed that every time he dies, he's reborn. In truth, his body is rejuvenated by his dragon, Mushussu, who swallows him then vomits him with a fully healed body. Despite the harrowing experience, he keeps his composure as a hero while also showing affection to the dragon. He offers friendship to archers like him, related to the sun, or has a Sacred Artifact that can cut heaven and earth. Marduk's Sacred Artifact is a celestial bow with a rule that can cut chaos into two, which he used to separate heaven and earth from chaos in Babel.

  • Affably Evil: Among the Warmongers' Representatives, he and Teda are the least antagonistic toward the protagonists and are capable of holding a decent conversation with them even in the midst of chaotic battle.
  • Book Dumb: A side effect of him forgetting all of his memories after being rejuvenated, with Balor commenting that he has been held back as a first year student for a quite long time.
  • Chainmail Bikini: Wear a golden armor with cape that barely covers anything, then Clothing Damage kicks in.
  • Enemy Mine: Toward the end of Chapter 11, he and Teda temporary put aside their animosity toward the protagonist and help them defeat Bertro and Mahakala in order to stop the moon from falling onto Kabukicho.
  • Instant Awesome, Just Add Dragons: Has a red dragon companion whose power can rejuvenate Marduk of any wounds by swallowing him whole, healing him, and spitting him back out.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: He has tendency to place trust in the wrong person, especially on people he is fighting alongside with, resulting in him getting backstabbing and almost killed by Yoritomo and Mephistopheles has the protagonist not saved him. To be fair, said two persons are one of the most charismatic and manipulative characters, and being unable to access his Pillar power greatly reduce Marduk's ability to judge who's friend or foe to him.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: He seems to based on the patron god of Babylon known as the King of the Gods that presides over justice, compassion, healing, regeneration, magic, fairness, storms, and agriculture. He is also accompanied by his servant dragon, Mushussu, who even acts as his symbol.
  • Worf Had the Flu: For some reasons, his Mandate of Heaven Clay Tablet's power cannot be utilized properly, and thus is unable to recall the memories from the past loops. Which may be due to Shuichi, given that he is shown to possess a Sacred Artifact with very similar design..
  • Weaksauce Weakness: As incarnation of Babel's sun, Marduk's offensive power heavily diminishes during nighttime, especially as against the opponent who draws power from his weakness like Ellie.

One of the Representatives of the Warmongers summoned from Devaloka. He's a young monk with a sincere nature that dedicates himself to bettering his physicality and spirituality. Shiva combines his different selves from his life to open his seventh chakra to achieve unlimited physical prowess. His sealed third eye is said to bring the end of the universe if it is ever opened. To keep it shut, he represses his emotions and presents absolute self-control. His Sacred Artifact is a spear with three prongs but doesn't take that form. It actually represents his past, present, and future selves as one being. This culminates in giving him enough power to break the moon with one hit.

  • Adaptational Sexuality: The mythological Shiva only falls for Parvati and her previous life, Sati, while this Shiva is not known to have fallen in love with anyone but Kamadeva.
  • Animal Motifs: Snake, though unlike the original myth, the one around his neck is simply a necklace and not flesh-and-blood.
  • Arranged Marriage: Back in his own world, he was destined to be paired with Parvati like in the original myth, but the fact that he instead fell in love with Kamadeva instead completely derailed the plan.
  • Beyond the Impossible: According to Bertro, no Transient possesses the power to destroy their very world. Shiva himself is the exception.
  • Blessed with Suck: Does not take it very well that he was given the power of Love and Desire by Kamadeva, and vows to kill the protagonist who holds the soul of his archenemy.
  • Chainmail Bikini: His Shiva-Mahakala form features him in a black armor that covers so less that he might as well not wearing anything.
  • Decomposite Character: As stated in Daikoku's profile, he and Daikoku(ten) aren't the same person.
  • The Dreaded:
  • The Faceless: Like Algernon, Shiva hides his face with a helmet.
  • Flower Motifs: His Summer variant gives him "Ixora Coccinea", a flower that refers to his name and symbolizes, among other things, passion and desire.
  • Fundoshi: Has one, which is also treated as a swimsuit, though he does get a less risque normal swimsuit skin as well.
  • Mercy Kill: What he considered his killing of the Protagonist in the past loop to be.
  • Multicolored Hair: Black and white, just like his equivalent, Daikoku, though his is more Shonen-hair variant.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: As per his legend, though they're disembodied mechanical hands here and can transform into two of his clones.
  • Never My Fault: Even though he's head over heel for the protagonist, expect him to attribute the fact that the protagonist/Kamadeva forced him to love them most of the time.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Named after the Shiva, one of the Trimurti that is know as the Destroyer. The deity is supposed to bring destruction before the other two recreates the world anew.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Gains them on his shoulders in his alternate costume
  • Person of Mass Destruction: His name being Shiva is a dead giveaway.
  • Stripperiffic: Not often that God of Destruction crosses with skimpy armor.
  • Thong of Shielding: Part of his alternate costumes, again, like Daikoku's, down to using Fundoshi as a swimsuit.
  • Unexpected Character: With Daikoku's mythological origin's association with Shiva, no one expects the original guy himself to appear in the game.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Due to his history with Kamadeva in the past, he is weak against those that share similar power with his archenemy like Shinya, who forces him to flee with the power of Cupid's arrow.
  • Worf Had the Flu:
  • Yandere: As it turns out, Shiva is very much in love with the protagonist since one particular fateful loop that they spend their time together, until the inevitable end that the protagonist Taking the Bullet for him. Believing that there is no escape from the fate of death and parting, he resolves instead to be the only person that kill the protagonist forever in the loops in order of them to not get "dirtied" by the other Representatives.
