Tropedia

  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

  • Anachronic Order: The manner in which the episodes have been added to That Guy With The Glasses. In one of the stranger examples, the first three episodes were released in between episodes 12 and 13.
  • Approval of God: Many of the voice actors of the original English dub of Dragon Ball Z expressed approval of the series, and have quoted the show's lines in-character.
  • Hey, It's That Voice!: Megami33 voices Bulma (as well as SailorMoon for a brief cameo) and Little Kuriboh himself provides the voice for the narrator and Freeza.
    • Let's put it this way. Yu-Gi-Oh!, Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Berserk, Gantz, Avatar, and even Metal Gear Solid. If you've seen the abridged series of any of those shows, you will find at least one voice familiar.
      • Though it depends on which one you watch, since with how popular abridging has become, there are bound to be a few different groups abridging the same thing
      • Seeing that Little Kuriboh voices Freeza ... at the end of Episode 24, he says "... give me some ideas." He sounds a lot like Florence (a.k.a. Yami Bakura). Interestingly enough, one of his quotes is said earlier in that same episode by Krilin. When he transforms, he sound a lot like Yami Yugi, especially when he says "All done."
    • From the Bardock: Father of Goku special and onwards, many of the sound effects come from the Orange Box. In particular, all grunts and yells of mooks during combat are clearly those of the characters from Team Fortress 2. May also count as a Shout-Out.
    • Apparently, the Elder Namek of Episode 16 is a man and wears a pretty hat...
    • Kyle Hebert is Santa Claus.
    • The voices of Krillin (Lanipator) and Nappa (Takahata101) were first heard in one of Kirbopher's flashes
    • In the 4th abridged movie, Christopher Robin Miller, also known as Professor Layton, is Bubbles the Monkey.
    • Neil Patrick Harris is the Spirit Bomb. Yeah...
  • Insistent Terminology: KaiserNeko is a Troper, and often visits this very page. One of his common quirks is editing instances where other Tropers mistakenly spell Freeza's name as "Frieza". While the official release usually cites the name with the I-E spelling, in DBZ Abridged, the E-E version is used.
