  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. • Can't Unhear It: For HK fans, the late Lam Pou-chuen can be considered as the definitive Cantonese-dubbed Doraemon.
  • Ear Worm: The opening, Doraemon No Uta.
  • Fridge Logic: long-time readers may sometimes be left asking why Doraemon didn't use his other gadgets to get himself/Nobita/others out of their predicament.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff : In Indonesia and Malaysia, being a Gateway Series to Japanese animation and manga in general. And HOW. It's also quite the hot stuff in Spain, having aired since almost as early as in Japan and still going strong.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Though Nobita would likely end up with Shizuka in the future, At least a few Yaoi fans want him to go with Dekisugi (mainly in an Opposites Attract manner such as Nobita's idiocy and and Dekisugi's intelligence) instead of her.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • One of the characters in Doraemon: Nobita to Mittsu no Seireiseki is named Corona
    • Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars deal with political wars, coup, and dictatorship, something that sadly happened in Thailand, one of the countries where Doraemon is very popular and integral in people's life, in 2010s and still continued to these days.
    • The "Animaker" episode features a gadget that is capable of creating an anime by itself from virtually out of nothing, including but not limited to automatic animation and synthesized voice acting. Fast forward to 2020s where artists in the industry are facing problems from A.I. art, and various voice actors are against having their voice being copied for A.I. by various game companies for the purpose of cutting down budget.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Ho Yay: Suneo and Gian, sometimes.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Tamako Nobi (Nobita's mom) spent every single year trying to let Nobita become a better and intellectual person, but his repeated laziness and frequent lower-than-low test scores only led her to angrily scolding him (with good intentions). Just imagine her reaction to her son's crisis in a timeline where he married Jaiko...
  • Memetic Mutation:
  • Nightmare Fuel: The episode where Doraemon uses this moonbeam flashlight that turns anyone it shines on into a Werewolf. Doraemon scares Nobita after he retreats to his room after watching a scary movie.
  • The Scrappy: Among all the characters, Dekisugi seems to be disliked by fans the most due to his status as Parody Sue, excelling in everything and having no flaw at all shown on the screen, comparing to Suneo and Shizuka who despite also possesses similar academic ability and being generally skilled like him, are also shown to be Broken Ace due to being heavily pressured by their mothers.
  • Tear Jerker: Any episode about Nobita's grandma.
    • And the episode where Shizuka adopts a doll and asks Doraemon to make her a sentient one so they can find its owner...
    • The episode where Nobita accidentally called a Snow Spirit. They started as a friend until the spirit became a Clingy Jealous Girl towards Nobita and forced him to play hours in a snow storm. Nobita caught a very bad fever as the result. Knowing she really liked Nobita and felt bad that Nobita got sick because of her, she sacrificed herself to heal Nobita's fever and in exchange she had to vanished with the winter and spring came early instead.
    • The movie where a portal to another dimension forms under a floor tile in Nobita's room. Doraemon finds a love interest there, and said portal gets destroyed at the end of the movie, severing Doraemon from ever being able to visit his love interest ever again. The movie's Award Bait tear jerker of a theme song (played as the portal vanishes) brings on the full effect.
    • And of course, the final chapter of Volume 6 of the manga, as well as the first chapter of Volume 7. Which was adapted into a half-hour long TV special in two parts.
    • Some of the fan-written endings mentioned above as well. Especially the infamous "happy ending", when the repaired Doraemon wakes up for the first time in 35 years, and Nobita and Shizuka both switch to looking just like they did when he was last awake and Glomp the confused cat. There is a reason the fanbase were so convinced it was canon that they were emailing the publisher asking them to verify and/or animate it.
    • Technically, each movies had good share amount of this and Crowning Moment of Heartwarming.
    • Meta: Nobuyo Oyama, the 1979 Doraemon's voice actress, was diagnosed with memory-related illness in her later years with the doctor stated that she had forgotten about her favorite character that she had played.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks:
    • In the early days, the 2005 anime series faced a significant amount of criticism from a shift in the art style and a different portrayal of characters by their voice actors, partly due to the a lot of people grew up with the 1979 anime series which ran for a grand total of 25 years. The criticism has since died down due to the series and characters' voice being charming and enjoyable in its own different way from the 1979 version, though some still prefer the latter.
    • On a smaller note, the fact that none of the Doraemons' members are featured in the anime/merchandise since the reboot as they're still very popular to the fans to these days, despite the fact the even Principal Terao Dai himself is featured in the series.
