• Creative Differences: Tamers owes its very existence to this.
  • to recap many of the staff including Konaka which were originally apart of the main staff for Digimon Adventure 02 were upset about the Executive Meddling and so they were about to quit the project even though they were under contract. So instead of letting them just leave and break contract, Bandai gave them and Konaka the next series, and then gave them the room to plan it out the way they wanted.
• Depending on the Writer: Although at first glance the Ryo that appears in Tamers has a different personality from the one in the game, he was in fact written by the same person who wrote his character in the games, according to the main writer.
• Executive Meddling: Jeri's dad was originally supposed to be an Yakuza (As if she didn't have enough problems already), hadn't Toei's executives intervened.
• Fan Nickname: Fans nicknamed the Jeri-Type Agent of the D-Reaper the "J-Reaper."
• Hey, It's That Voice!:
  • Guilmon, Yamaki and Kenta are all voiced by Digimon regular Steve Blum.
  • Juri in the english dub is voiced by Bridget Hoffman the very same woman who voiced LAIN from Serial Experiments Lain. And Ryoko Asakura.
  • In the Japanese version Guilmon is voiced by Masako Nozawa, the same woman who provided the voice for Son Goku from Dragon Ball.
    • By coincidence, Steve Blum himself was Goku in a 90s video game.
  • In the last few dub episodes, whenever Ryo starts yelling it's really easy to hear him lapse into the voice he would later use for Koji Minamoto.
    • Heck, Sonic the Hedgehog fans might be familiar with the Japanese Ryo, especially when he starts spouting English in his image song.
  • In the original Japanese, Ruki is Rukia, while in the dub, she's Ed and Gaz.
    • Speaking of Rukia, her actress in the dub also voices Antylamon.
• Sure Why Not and Shrug of God: Chiaki J. Konaka on whether or not Alice is a ghost.
• What Could Have Been: Word of God states that Impmon was originally conceived as the main character!
  • When that was shot down, Impmon/Beelzemon was originally intended to be the Big Bad of the series, but was replaced by the D-Reaper and became The Atoner instead.
  • This may explain why Impmon is portrayed in typical Big Bad fashion in the earlier promotional material.
  • Also Tamers was originally planned to be a direct sequel to Adventure continuity.
• Word of God: Arguably has the most All There in the Manual info out of any Digimon series due to Konaka's blog being publicly available and packed with information, and with an English translation to boot so that non-Japanese speakers can read.
