Wink Martindale created this Game Show for USA Network, in which two pairs of contestants competed to solve puzzles based on vanity license plates that might have belonged to celebrities or fictional characters. After winning a toss-up, the team in control revealed one of the seven characters in a "super stumper" puzzle. The object was to solve the "super stumper" before the opposing team.
Game Show Tropes in use:
- Bonus Round: The winning team has 30 seconds to solve a series of license plate puzzles. Then they pick from the seven letters in the word STUMPER and hope the stop sign doesn't appear.
Other tropes in use:
- Vanity License Plate: The entire premise.
- ↑ in the vein of William Steig's juvenile book C D B!
