Tropedia

  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

  • Anvilicious: "Girl Poison"
    • "Cubicle". We get it. Corporations and desk jobs are soul-destroying machines of doom that will suck you in, spit you out and leave you as a shell for the rest of your days. Please stop slamming us over the head with it, some of us have to work.
  • Crazy Awesome: Both of them, but especially ZooG. His exploits include:
    • Calling John Howard (Australia's former PM) a 'complete cunt' in an interview.
    • Dyeing his mohawk pink and managing to still carry it off.
    • Making a video about Angelspit's contest to find a new videographer that included him killing the old videographer and ending it with 'I need a knife, a fork and an oven built for one. Happy new fucking year!'
    • In one interview, he decided he didn't want to just stand still and talk, so he got a trolley used for pulling around equipment, got the interviewer to sit on it and randomly pulled him around while being interviewed.
    • Combichrist raised the possibility of them playing a show or two together. ZooG's response was, in essence, 'Fuck that, we'll have a rock duel to the death!' And that's what they did (though nobody died, obviously).
  • Crowning Moment of Awesome: Pretty much everything they do can qualify as this.
    • "God made me a cannibal to fix problems like you", anyone?
  • Ear Worm: This troper has no idea how they do it, but just about every song Angelspit has ever done is one of these. Special mentions go to:
    • "Vena cava! Heart starter! The doctor is IN! SANE!"
    • "Crash dolly, burn with me. Like on TV. Get dirty, boy on me. So lust worthy."
    • "Your body, in my mouth! Devilicious!"
    • "This time, you're 100% FUCKED!""
    • "I'm feeling, (lickin', suckin', fuckin') I'm feeling... juicy."
    • "Wreak havoc right! Now! Right! Now! Riot! Now! Wreak havoc right! Now! Right! Now! Riot! Now! Unleash hell!"
    • "I was on the lookout for the wolf, the wolf, the wolf, the wolf, I was on the lookout for the, I was on the lookout for the wolf, the wolf, the wolf, the wolf, I was on the lookout..."
    • "Crash made! Built to fade! Fuck! The! Revolution!"
    • "Grind, head down, tail up, define your purpose, till you bleed and you are raw to the bone."
    • "I gave birth to the 21st century!" and "All the way, all the way, all the way to twenty6hundred!"
    • Even the remixes are like this. "Paradise breeds, paradise breeds, paradise breeds, paradise breeds, paradise breeds..."
    • "One! Two three five eight, who do we decapitate?"
    • "Defibrillator... CLEAR!"
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: "Defibrillator", from Hello My Name Is. It's become an insanely popular song, mainly because it manages to combine two genres nobody in their right mind would put together (pop and industrial) and it works.
  • Hell Is That Noise: "Black Wine". Applies to quite a few of their songs, actually.
  • Narm Charm: "Daddy... buy me... a pixel... pony."
  • Nightmare Fuel: The video for "Vena Cava", the casual references to cannibalism, torture and murder...
    • "Elixir" is a Take That to the beauty industry. Throughout the song, one can hear screaming at certain points- not loud screaming, but someone screaming in pain. Once one connects this with the lyrics, which reference plastic surgery and painful beauty treatments... yeah.
    • "Grind" has elements of this- the lyrics are bloody creepy, and DestroyX's voice sounds quite robotic, almost like GLaDOS as she sings it.
    • The "Vena Cava" video.
    • Apparently, the video for "Toxic Girl" will be this. It's been described as a very intense mix of porn and torture. This cannot end well.
  • Painful Rhyme: From "Juicy": "Spin a dice and it's Vegas rigged/a glass full of conobine, you're off your head."
    • From "Making Money": "Making money/All things shiny".
      • From "Vena Cava": "Vena cava/heart starter".
    • From "100%": "Powdered God in a bag from the Vatican/I want you to fuck off as hard as you can."
  • Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped: "Girl Poison" is a song about how young girls are encountering sexuality and losing their innocence at ridiculously young ages because that is what society/the media want, which they shouldn't be forced to.
  • Squick: Hentai rampage???
  • WTH Costuming Department: ZooG's apron... skirt... thing in the video for "Sleep Now".
